Meet the Team

Sarah Fakhraldeen

Professionally, I have been fortunate to find exactly what I was meant to do. Each day at “work” is truly a pleasure. Beyond working in a domain that is genuinely exciting to me, Stittsville dentistry allows me to develop great working relationships with the team at Capital Smiledocs as well as with the patients that entrust us with their care. Every day is different and engaging and allows me to help people improve their oral health and learn about its importance in their life overall.

To get to this place in my professional life, I first graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Dalhousie in 2011. From there, I jumped right into the dental program. I graduated from Dalhousie in 2015 with my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Although my formal studies were done, I quickly learned that it was just the tip of the iceberg as far as education was concerned. As my career has progressed, I have developed an interest in making Invisalign®, Neuromuscular dentistry and oral/nitrous sedation dentistry available to my patients. As time goes on, I plan on engaging in as much continuing education as possible to ensure that I can continue to offer the latest and greatest to the Stittsville and Kanata communities.

As much as I enjoy the days in the office, I love staying active outside of the clinic as well. I try to achieve a healthy balance between exercising/hiking with my dog and cooking/baking. I also recharge my batteries by either enjoying some downtime with a book or hosting friends and family. If you have any questions or are wondering if Capital Smiledocs is the right practice for you, call or email the office, leave me a message and I will be happy to contact you personally.

Having joined the Capital Smiledocs team in 2014, I have had a wonderful experience helping build the practice into what it is today. The team, along with all of our patients, has made my time here just fly by! Although I graduated from Algonquin College in 2009, I have stayed up to date with the latest research and studies in order to help our patients keep their oral health in the best possible condition. Outside of the office, I love to spend my time outdoors as much as possible. I love kayaking, hiking, gardening and painting.

I joined the Capital Smiledocs team in January of 2017 just after moving to Ottawa from New Brunswick. New Brunswick was where I was born and raised, and where I did my studies at Oulton College in Moncton. Any move can be a bit intimidating but the team and patients here have made me feel welcome and part of the Ottawa community right away! Although I am still getting to know the area, I have already found some great spots to indulge in my fishing and canoeing passions.

I have been working in the dental industry for over twenty years, both as a Certified Dental Assistant as well as a receptionist. Stittsville has been home to my family and I for the last 18 years. I joined the Capital Smiledocs team 3 years ago, and it has been a lot of fun to be involved in its growth! When I am not working, I find it extremely relaxing to bake or read. If you see me walking our dog Ella, don’t be shy and say “hi”.
